Emily Wardill
Emily Wardill lives and works in Lisbon. She has had solo shows at venues including Rialto6, Lisbon (2022); Secession Vienna (2020); Kohta, Helsinki (2019); Bergen Kunsthall (2017); Museu Calouste Gulbenkian (2017); INDEX, Stockholm (2014); de Appel arts centre, Amsterdam (2012); MIT List Visual Arts Centre, Cambridge, MA (2010); and Institute of Contemporary Arts, London (2007–08). She has participated in 19th Sydney Biennale (2014) and 54th Venice Biennale (2011). She was Artist in Focus at EMAF, Osnabrück, Germany in 2022 and has shown at Forum Expanded at the Berlinale (2021) and the New York and London film festivals (2017, 2014, 2010) among others. She has won awards including the EMAF (2021), Leverhulme (2011), and Jarman (2010) and her work is held by the collections of Tate Britain, London; mumok, Vienna; FRAC Champagne-Ardenne; Saastamoinen Foundation, Helsinki; Arts Council Collection, Great Britain; and many others. Wardill has taught across the globe and is currently doing a practice-led PhD at Malmö Art Academy.
